After World War II, Bishop C. Letson went to work for an LP gas company in Decatur, Alabama driving gas trucks. Letson eventually became a partner in the company and spearheaded its transformation into Mid South Heating Company. Mid South won home heating system contracts throughout the southeastern United States and after working some jobs in Louisville, Letson decided to call our city his home. He left Mid South and formed Production Heating Service in 1957.
Since then, the company continued to grow and evolve until it has become one of the region’s largest and best-known indoor comfort companies. Jody Letson, Bishop’s grandson and the current general manager, says, “My grandfather built this company on service and honorable business practices. And we’ve continued that tradition.”
Angie Letson, Bishop’s daughter and the service manager, said her father had a command that nobody ever broke without losing their job. “Be honest. Don’t sell anyone anything they don’t need. That’s what he always said to us,” Angie says.
